12. January 2023Finally in real life: The Mild & The Wild at the start of the season
On Friday 3 February, the 2023 classic car season will kick off in Bremen. Just like every year, you might think. But the last two years were an exception. Due to the pandemic, the on-site show had to be cancelled. However, Project Manager Frank Ruge and his team were at least able to offer classic car fans an online event to launch the season. They received a lot of positive feedback for the alternative show, but however you look at it there's no substitute for the hands-on experience of the live exhibition. Many visitors are now excited about finally seeing the spectacular special show The Mild & The Wild in reality. In the centre of Hall 5, seven pairings will be on display that contrast down-to-earth basic models with their pumped-up, high-powered brothers. The compact, 36-hp R5 TL fades into insignificance beside the turbo model with its inflated body. The other pairs are the Audi 80 GL coupe and the Sport Quattro, the Peugeot 205 GR and the Turbo 16, the BMW 1502 and the 2002 turbo, the Lancia Delta 1300 and the S4, the Ford Capri 1500 and the 2600 RS plus the Mercedes-Benz 190 and its rally version, the 2.5-16 Evolution II. Frank Ruge reveals that it's much easier to find the supercharged versions in original condition than the basic models. Nevertheless, the special show in Hall 5 exclusively presents rare originals in mint condition. If you search for long enough, you can still find them!
