Racing bikes to admire and buy: Bianchi and more

"Small and sweet" could be the motto for this year's bicycle exhibition by collector Wolfgang Hagemann. It also applies to the range of old racing bikes with tubular steel frames and corresponding spare parts on sale from Dutch bike dealer Arthur van Roij. The bike show on the upper floor in the foyer of Hall 1 also includes an information desk of the Verein Historischer Fahrräder (Historical Bicycle Club). At the show, Wolfgang Hagemann plans to display four Bianchi bikes and three special one-offs from other manufacturers. Anybody who wants to know more about the bikes can chat with the collector from the Oldenburger Münsterland region in person. Wolfgang Hagemann will be happy to pass on his expertise! The highlight of the exhibition will be the special Bianchi model built for the company's 110th anniversary in 1995. Back then, a limited edition of 500 were made in top quality. The bike presented at the BCM bears the number 129. What makes it special are the materials and processes used in its manufacture. The frame is made of welded titanium tubes. The lower and diagonal tubes were actually shaped from titanium plates in order to achieve high rigidity at the lowest possible weight.

Some attachment parts (e.g. hubs, inner bearings, saddle post, stem) were exclusively made for this model and engraved with the marking "BIANCHI 110". All the other components are the best and most expensive parts that were available at the time. Bike enthusiasts at the Bremen Classic Motorshow 2024 will be delighted to see the Bianchi wheels in classic celeste (green-blue).
