26. January 2023A Triumph lives up to its name!
We can reveal that a winning bike will be presented in the Mirror Hall of the ÖVB-Arena during the Bremen Classic Motorshow from 3 to 5 February! But let's start from the beginning: Frank Naser from Delmenhorst, who inherited his enthusiasm for motorcycles from his father, realised his dream in 2018 by buying a Triumph. The base of the converted bike was a model dating from 1948 with a rigid rear wheel, while the engine came from a 1971 TR6. The papers were just fine, but the motorbike itself was little more than scrap! A specialist had a go at fixing it up, but after 30 km, Naser's pride and joy was back in the garage with a massive piston jam. That was when the restoration project started in earnest. Three years later, in 2022, it culminated in first prize in Custombike magazine's 2022 Readers Choice poll. Michael Silbermann from the Classic & Custom Bikes Club managed to persuade Frank Naser to present his triumphant Triumph in the Mirror Hall at the Bremen Classic Motorshow. Alongside the Triumph, around 30 other custom bikes from North-West Germany will be on show. They are compelling evidence that an extremely creative group of enthusiasts in the region are motivating each other to ever higher achievements. Apart from classic & custom bikes, Jens Föhl and the team behind Wheels & Wake as well as Jan Hammerski (Chopwerk), Volker Dyksma, Matthias Buß and Udo Hergert, among others, will display bikes with frames at least 30 years old. Here's another tip for the bike community: Classic & Custom Bikes is holding its Spring Meet at Schuppen 1 (Shed 1) on 14 May.
