High interest in mass-produced cars on the "Red List" of endangered species

The last survivors of "Red List" cars have never enjoyed so much attention, interest and open admiration. The number of YouTube views is approaching 200,000 and the January edition of specialist magazine Oldtimer Markt devoted not only the editorial, but also a 14-page feature to the fast-disappearing bestsellers and Red-List expert Christian Steiger. Rare representatives of the endangered mass products from the 60s to the 80s will be on show at the Bremen Classic Motorshow 2023 in February. Project Manager Frank Ruge, the man behind the rediscovery of the species, will present roughly a dozen cars which have disappeared from the roads for various reasons on a large area in Hall 4. Visitors will be able to admire a VW Golf 1, aka "swallowtail", a Ford Granada Turnier, a Fiat 1500, a Simca 1501, an Opel Rekord E, a Peugeot 504 GL saloon, an Audi 100 (type 43), a VW 1600 Variant, an Alfasud, a Renault 16 and a BMW 323i (E21). And classic car buffs will no doubt find a few more well-preserved examples on the stands of the exhibitors and clubs. Ruge expects that 20 of these mass-produced rarities will be on display on the entire exhibition site.
